Top Things to Do in Florida

North Florida

Silver Springs State Park

Wow!! This place is amazing, $15 for the first hour of kayaking through crystal clear waters. Best part is you can encounter MANATEES! There is also alligators, monkeys, birds, and tons of other wildlife.

It costs only $2 to enter the actual park. If you look closely, there are left over statues at the bottom of the spring from the 1960s TV series I Spy.

St. Augustine

Castillo de San Marcos

In 1513, Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de Leon discovered florida in search of the Fountain of youth. St. Augustine claims to be the oldest continuously settled city in the U.S

Castillo de San Marcos is one of the main attractions in St. Augustine and for good reason, It is the oldest and largest masonry for in the continental U.S. It is free to visit day or night.

Flager College (The Ponce de Leon Hotel)

Originally constructed in 1888 as a luxurious Hotel, it is now the centerpiece of Flager College.

The architecture is a sight to behold!

Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine

Constructed over a five year span (1793-1797) its congregation established in 1565, is the oldest Christian congregation in the contiguous U.S.

Notice a pattern yet? Everything here is the oldest in the U.S.

St. Augustine Lighthouse

There are a lot of lighthouses in Florida, this one was built between 1871 and 1874. Climbing to the top is allowed, there is also a museum but it costs $12.95

Get lost in the Historic District

Check out St. George street for shopping, restaurants, and even street performers.

It’s honestly super fun to just walk around admiring the different neighborhoods and the history they possess.

Central Florida

Bok Tower Gardens

This place is epic, it feels like you are in the set for Lord of the Rings.

There are beautiful gardens, tons of trails and carillon bell concerts at 1 & 3 P.M. daily

There is an entrance fee but totally worth it!

Clearwater Beach

Soft, white sand, jet-skiing, parasailing, and stand-up paddleboarding are just some of the things Clearwater Beach offers.

There’s also a pier, restaurants, and plenty of shopping.

The Dali (Salvador Dali Museum)

This is a must place to check out just for the architecture alone. IT’S INCREDIBLE!

The artworks are on par with the architecture of the building, it is Dali after all. The gallery itself is not massive. Quality over quantity.

It does cost around $25 for adults but completely worth it! (check their website for rest of prices)

Veterans Memorial Center

Super close to the Kennedy Space Station is the Veterans Memorial Center. It’s totally free and cool. There is a museum, library, plaza and park.

The park is the coolest in my opinion because of the military vehicles on display.

South Florida

Jupiter Beach

This was one of my favorite beaches in Florida. Free, plenty of parking, clean, and not overcrowded.

Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens

Amazing place to relax on a serene and peaceful walk along the gardens. There is a museum and cafe as well as events. Lots of wildlife too! There is a $15 entrance fee for adults but totally worth it. (check their website for full list of prices)

Fort Lauderdale Beach

Although a little bit overcrowded, it is well maintained. Perfect for people watching and relaxing on the sand.

Lots of restaurants, bars, and stores around!

Wynwood Design District

Do you like art and architecture? Then you must visit the Wynwood area!
