Cliff Walk

Gorgeous views await in this scenic 3.5 mile walkway. About half of the trail is paved  the rest includes walking on rocks.

Newport Mansions

After checking out the Cliff Walk be sure to drive around and contemplate the mansions surrounding the area.

This was the summer playground of America’s wealthiest families back in the 19th Century.

Providence

RISD Museum

Founded in 1877, RISD is the 20th largest art museum in the United States.

Containing more than 100,000 works including paintings, sculpture, decorative arts, costume and textiles, and furniture from all over the world.

This is not free but it’s worth the $15 for adults. (check their website for full price list)

Crook Point Bascule Bridge

Abandoned drawbridge left in the up position to avoid demolition costs.

Nice rustic view with a walking trail around. You can get close to the train tracks but it’s considered trespassing, so explore at your own risk.

10,000 Suns

Summer-long botanical performance where over 10,000 sunflower seeds are planted.

This happens from June-September so if you are in the area is worth checking out and it’s totally free!
