Really nice artworks! Definitely worth checking out while walking on the canal walk.

Brown's Island

Popular venue of a large number of outdoor concerts and festivals in the spring and summer. Another nice place to check out along the canal walk.

Completed in 1845, considered by architectural scholars as one of the finest surviving Egyptian Revival-style buildings in the nation.

Alexandria

The George Washington Masonic National Memorial

Really interesting place! Maybe you’ve heard of  The Illuminati? This place is filled with items and images about it. 

Totally a must see for the architecture, guided tour, and for the views of the city from the top floor.

Admission to the Memorial is $18. Photo ID required. Children aged 12 and under are admitted to the Memorial for free, and must be accompanied by an adult.

Alexandria Historical District

Lots of historic homes and historic sites here, containing one of the nation’s best-preserved assemblages of the late-18th and early-19th century urban architecture.

Perfect for walking around and getting lost.
